1930s Gown / Lamè Evening Gown / 1930s Dress / Hand Painted Dress / Metallic Embroidery / Size Large
This dress comes from a prominent Manhattan store Melle Marie that was opened after the the four story mansion on East 67th St, owned by the famous Cutting family and designed by Andrew Flagg, was sold sometime in 1922 and the bottom was converted to retail spaces.
~ Stunning late 1930s early 1940s embellished midnight black crepe evening gown.
~ Deep V - neckline.
~ Neckline and bodice are covered in a rich metallic *gold lamé floral pattern along with large red, turquoise and green hand painted flowers outlined in the metallic gold lamé.
~ Keyhole back neckline that closes with a hook and eye. Each side on the center has those colorful flowers.
~ Below the neckline it comes to a point creating a center pleat.
~ Deep cap sleeves.
~ Very full A-line skirt.
~ Back zipper for closure.
*Lamè is gold but reads more silver in the photos.
