1960's Custom Couture Black Chiffon Dress / Mary Gleason for Bergdorf Goodman / 60's Black Chiffon Gown / Size Large

This custom designed couture dress, dated 1969 from Bergdorf Goodman's custom couture department, is to die for! It was designed by their in-house designer Mary Gleason for a special client and is dated and numbered. This black silk chiffon gown has a round neckline, a fitted waist and long sheer black puffy sleeves that have a fitted cuff with two black fabric covered buttons. But the most exquisite thing about this couture delight is the incredibly intricate tiny hand-sewn tucks at the shoulders and waist. See photos! Black crepe lines the bodice. The beautifully sweeping skirt has multi layers. The top two layers are decadent sheer black chiffon with hand-stitched hems. Then there is the beautiful creamy silk slip that has an outer covering of black silk chiffon. The interior seams and zipper are all hand finished. The dress comes with a detachable black belt with bow. There is a hook and eye and metal zipper at back.
