A beautiful designer set from vintage designer, Hattie Carnegie. Made from luxurious silk brocade in an exquisite floral motif, this has a beautiful metallic surface shimmer. The deceptively simple dress is beautifully constructed with a rounded neckline, sleeveless bodice, and gently flared skirt. Lined in pale canary taffeta, and with back metal zipper.

The matching jacket is perfectly tailored in a nod to Edwardian fashion. Has soft, rounded lapels, which lead to a single button closure at the waist. Has full shaped sleeves with hidden seams — another Edwardian style detail. The gorgeous decorative button is made from a braided plastic knot. Lined in matching pale canary taffeta.

This dress has provenance: It was worn to Eisenhower's inauguration by a dignitary's wife in 1953.
