Rare 1950s Gown / Karen Stark for Harvey Berin / 1950s Strapless / Blue Wool Gown w/ Fuchsia Satin Sash / 1950s Evening Gown / Size Small

This is a rare Harvey Berin gown from the 1950s. He produced a lot of cocktail length dresses and we have never seen a gown from this label made from wool. Karen Stark was the main designer for this label and took a lot of inspiration from what was coming out of Paris in the 1950s and 60s. This label was worn by a lot of movie stars, socialites and First Ladies.

~ 1950s strapless evening dress by designer Karen Stark for Harvey Berin.
~ Made of a soft felt-like Forstmann wool in a beautiful blue somewhere between navy and royal.
~ Paired with a stunning deep fuchsia heavy satin sash.
~ Strapless top with an asymmetrical split cuffed neckline over a fitted bust.
~ Boning in the bodice that is lined in taffeta, with linen lining the dress to below the hips.
~ Vertical bust seams end in a fitted waist with darts that create full hips.
~ Long skirt with only a center back seam narrows to the hem, with a high slit in the back.
~ Metal back zipper, interior waist ribbon and hanging straps.
~ Several metal and thread hooks and eyes on the waist and 2- piece sash. The sash has a dramatic large attached flounce. The sash wraps the waist and the bottom portion hangs from the waist. There is room for variation to the way we present it in our photos.

Condition: Great vintage condition. Two tiny moth hole repairs near the hem don't show when worn. A slight fade line in the sash hides under the large flounce and faint water line near the hem. None of this detracts form the incredible beauty of this dress.
