~ A striking and unusual piece of Victorian fashion this incredible dress is made from exquisite materials of another era. ~ Constructed from a lightweight silk jacquard with a stunning sheerness, and with a textured motif which resembles plaid.
~ Very warm, almost brown, black in color.
~ Has a very deep V-neckline which is embellished with silk lace, matte black gelatin sequins, and real jet seed beads.
~ Ruching through the bodice gives it a gorgeous texture, and several lengths of black silk crepe descend from the waist, finishing with jet bead fringe.
~The full sleeves have a curved shape, and are also adorned with black silk flaps with jet bead fringe.
~ Skirt back ends in a train. (see photo)
~ There is an inner layer of black polished cotton, and a wide silk ruffle under the skirt. Has a long train in the back of the skirt which gives it a nice volume.

Condition: Great vintage condition. A few color faded spots turned almost amber that blend well into the warm black color. Some tiny pulls on the bodice, Holes on the back of the interior skirt. These flaws are to be expected with a garment that is well over 100 years old. An absolutely beautiful dress!
